2024 By-Laws

The 2024 edition of the Chapter By-Laws have been posted and are available on the Forms page.

Issues With Federation Website

Brothers of Bergen County,

Since late November, I have been having issues with getting into the back end of the Federation website to update and add new content.  I have been patiently working with our hosting company to determine what the issue(s) are and how to resolve them.  Until I can get the issues with the Federation website resolved, any events that would normally be posted to the Federation website will be posted to the Bergen Chapter website.

As per the Federation By-Laws, any event and CUF Exemplification to be posted to the website must first be sent to the Federation President for approval.  In turn, he will forward the information to me for posting.  Steve Martin is the Federation President and his e-mail address is:  smmartin1013@gmail.com

Thank you.

Proposed Changes to Chapter By-Laws

During the summer, the Chapter officers, acting as a committee of the whole, began a review to revise the By-Laws which were last updated in 2017.

At the October 30 meeting, the proposed changes were presented to the member councils.  The proposed changes are now posted for review by all member councils.  The posted copy contains a "PRELIMINARY" watermark.

The proposed changes will be voted upon at the January 30, 2024 meeting.  This meeting will be hosted by Madonna Council 520 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Tenafly.  If the proposed changes are accepted at the January 30, 2024 meeting, the revised By-Laws will take effect at 12:01 AM, January 31, 2024.

Clicking on either link will open a new browser tab and load the requested document.

Online Delegate Registration Open for 2023-2024

The Chapter's Online Delegate Registration Form is now available for you to register your council's delegates and alternates for 2023-2024.  For your council to receive timely notifications and receive any Welfare Committee e-Cases, please register your council's delegates and alternates by August 31st.

To do this, move your mouse over the Forms link and the Delegate Registration drop-down will appear.  Click on Delegate Registration and you can fill out the form online and submit it.  If at any time during the year, your council changes delegates and/or alternates, you can fill out the registration form again, selecting "Updated Registration" instead of "New Registration".

You can also click here to go to the Delegate Registration page.

Subscribe to Receive Chapter Updates

You can register to receive an e-mail whenever there is a new posting on the Bergen Chapter website.

You may have noticed that off to the right of where these posts appear is a section where you can register to receive updates to the Chapter website via e-mail.  Updates are usually posts in this section of the website or events posted to the calendar.  By subscribing to the updates, you receive e-mails as soon as items are posted to the website.

Simply enter your name, council number, and e-mail address and click Submit.  You will receive an e-mail from "Bergen Chapter Knights of Columbus" with the subject "Bergen Chapter Knights of Columbus - Please confirm your subscription".  When you open the e-mail there will be a sentence stating that the website received an e-mail from your e-mail address and asks you to confirm it by "clicking here".  When you do so, you will receive a message thanking you that you have successfully subscribed and a welcome e-mail.  If you don't see the e-mail, check your spam filter and your spam folder in your e-mail system.

As new posts are added to the website, subscribers will receive an e-mail with the words "New Post Published" in the subject line along with the post title.  Once you open the e-mail, there will be a link that you can click on which will open the post in your browser.
